For the second year running, Prince Aviation flight school and charter divisions returned to the skies above Kragujevac last Saturday, joining an air show hosted by MIND Aviation alongside the “Mihailo Petrović” heritage association and the Kragujevac Tourist Board.

Our flight school met the public at our own stand, and brought along our twin-engine Tecnam Aircraft P2006T trainer for visitors to see up close.

From children who had never sat in a cockpit to people quietly weighing a career change, everyone arrived with the same question, asked a dozen different ways: how does a person actually become a pilot? We were glad to answer every one of them.

However, the day’s highlight came from the above.

Our co-founder, Captain Slobodan Stričević, flew our Textron Aviation Citation XLS, YU-SVL, over the field – at one point sharing the sky in formation with MiG-29s of the Serbian Air Force, a sight that captivated the crowd, young and old.

For us, days like this are about something bigger than a flying display. Aviation is, before anything else, a community – one that gives generously to those who fall in love with it, and asks, in return, that they give something back.

A fly-past, a stand at a local air show, an afternoon spent answering a child’s questions: none of it shows up on a balance sheet.

What it does is keep the door open. It reminds a young person watching from the ground level that the cockpit is not a closed world, but a place they, too, might one day reach.

That is the spirit in which we keep coming back.
